Unifying workflows

Harvest week is a stream of cross-trial questions: Which sites still owe Visit 3? What’s due today and not collected? Of the twelve trials in this region, which one is behind?

Until now, answering those on the web meant opening trials one at a time. That’s changed, and web data entry is now much closer to the mobile experience people already know.

Familiar lists and progress cues, plus matching access rules, reduce training and make it easier to enter data on mobile or web seamlessly. We’ll keep aligning web and mobile for data entry so teams can move between devices without relearning the flow.

QuickTrials web now also provides a Visits list across every trial you can access, with collection progress on each row, plus a companion Trials list for progress per trial. The old visits page still remains available for some time so it’s possible to switch back if you prefer the earlier screen.

Familiar look and feel

The web and mobile apps now share the same workflow, making it easier to switch between both.

See progress at a glance

On both lists, the Observations column shows taken / total, a percentage, and a bar.

  • Due today — observations that should already have been taken by today.
  • Caught up — everything expected for that row is collected.

State colour dots mark Active vs Preview (info on the State column for the legend). The Observations header info explains the counts and badges

Trials list: state dots plus “due today” and “Caught up” on the Observations column.

Visits: scheduled, actual, and today’s bar

Open Visits to see every visit across your trials on one screen.

  • Actual Visit vs Scheduled Visit (with Create visit when needed).
  • A bar marks where today falls; shared dates use a brown date block and left stripe.
  • Row actions: open observations, mark completed, change date, duplicate, or delete a duplicate.
  • Hide completed drops rows with nothing left to collect.

Visits list: shared-date grouping, Create visit, and observation progress on each row.

Filtered to one trial? Open old visits page still opens the previous screen during the transition.

Trials companion list (data-entry roles)

Data-entry roles also get the Trials list, with the same Observations column and badges, so you can spot which trial is lagging before drilling into visits.

Filter, highlight, and group

Both lists share the same controls:

  • Filter shows only matching results; Highlight keeps the full list and marks matches.
  • Group by trial, site, visit, crop, customer, or partner (Trials list: site, crop, customer, partner) – Only on web version.
  • Filter by Date, Name, Trial, State, Site, Scheduled visit, Crop, Customer, Partner.
  • Pick columns, refresh, export CSV; collapse unscheduled / no-date sections when you don’t need them.

Who sees what

Access matches the mobile app (i.e. owners, edit groups, data entry permission, and site staff), so the same people see the same trials wherever they work.

  • Active trials accept data.
  • Preview trials are visible for preparation, but you can’t enter data.
  • All the other states (i.e.: Completed, etc…) are hidden.

If a trial is missing from someone’s list, grant them access (same approach as on mobile).

This is where you reach for:

  • Raw observations, every observation row, with all plot and trial details attached, for when you need the audit trail.
  • The full Images archive, every photo from the trial, downloaded in one go.

For everyday work, a saved view is faster. When you need finer control for a special analysis, a regulatory pull, or a debugging session, More export options is right there.

Try it now (it takes about a minute)

  1. Open Visits (every visit across your trials).
  2. Scan Observations for due today and Caught up.
  3. Switch Filter vs Highlight, or group by site / trial, when you’re chasing a region.
