Reducing field trial errors with formulas
When conducting agronomic Field Trials there are often measurements that depend on the values of other measurements. For example, the “Yield per Plot”, “Nutrient Use Efficiency” or “Biomass Accumulation Rate”. Some values, such as “Product Spray Calculations”, need to be calculated in the field while a trial is being executed. Instead of requiring Field Staff to calculate these derived values manually, it’s faster and more accurate to use formulas.
QuickTrials has a feature called Derived Traits that makes the power of formulas available for measurement traits. It can be used to quickly and automatically calculate the “Normalized yield in tons per hectare”, “Earliness in days”, “Spray quantity”, etc. so that field staff save time and manual calculation errors are greatly reduced.
